A common belief is that gender transition is a painful, stressful experience. And it certainly can be. But that's not the only option.

With the right support, transition can feel like taking the next steps to becoming more fully who you are. It can feel like growth. In a good way.

I've discovered some key things along the way that have helped both me and my clients make the gender transition journey feel less like a slog through the mud through my professional, clinical experience working with trans and non-binary folks.

Hi, I’m Rae McDaniel (they/them),

a Licensed Therapist, Certified Sex Therapist, as well as a Transgender Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, coach, educator and entrepreneur.

My specialty is helping transgender and non-binary people navigate transition, sex, gender, sexual identity, and relationships with resiliency, curiosity, and pleasure. I’m the founder and CEO of Practical Audacity, a Gender & Sex Therapy practice in Chicago. My credentials - both academic and professional, have led to a variety of speaking engagements and opportunities to facilitate and lead workshops on transgender equality and inclusion in corporate settings, at school, and within community groups.
